First make sure you have a power cut kit in a place that is
easy to find if it is dark, this it could be candles matches or a lighter, a
torch and spare batteries.
Turn off all of your lights and appliances apart from your
fridge and freezer and one light as so when the electricity comes back on you
won’t trip a fuse from it being over loaded.
Make sure you keep your freezer door shut until at least
seven hours after the power has come back on to stop it from defrosting and the
food inside from going bad.
Wind up LED Torch £7.99 www.johnlewis.com
